ISLAMABAD: Director Metrological Department Muhammad Hanif told on Friday that the cold weather is expected to extend till March unlike previous seasons when it used to end in February, .
The director was talking to Geo News and told that rains started in the month of January instead of December while unusual low temperatures were also recorded in December and January in many areas across the country.
He further said that rain and snowfall would stretch through March instead of ending in February.
Temperatures would remain relatively low in plain areas while extended summer is also expected this year, however, spring season would continue till one week, director met dept added.
