Samina Baig is a high school student and the first Pakistani girl to climb a mountain peak in Pakistan. The 6400 meter high peak is located in Hunza, Shimshal in Northern Pakistan. The particular peak that Samina climbed is now named after her, Samina’s peak.
Samina’s brother Mirza Ali and Samina has set up a non profit called Pakistan Youth Outreach in which they teach the youth about the benefits of mountain climbing and exploring new or undiscovered peaks in order to bring out a positive story from Pakistan rather than war or terrorism related news.
