Islamabad: As Pakistan issued
postal stamps in the memory of Arfa Karim, the world’s Youngest
Microsoft Professional who lost her life after brief illness,
heart-wrenching scenes were seen at the ceremony when the participants
saw late young genius’ mother kissing another genius and brave girl from
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Malala Yousuf Zai.
Arfa’s mother seemed to be seeing her
daughter in Malala Yousufzai, a brave girl who wrote diaries for BBC
during the brutal rule of Pakistan’s homegrown terrorists in Swat.
Yosufzai has also been nominated for International Peace Award while Pakistan also conferred the National Peace Award on her.
Everyone present at the ceremony held by
postal ministry to issue the stamps was sad to see Arfa’s mother
shedding tears while kissing on Yousufzai’s forehead.
During the ceremony held on Thursday, Federal Minister
for Postal Services Sardar Umar Gorage presented a cheque of Rs100,000
to Arfa’s parents. A message of Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani’s was
also read on the occasion.
The prime minister in his message said
the achievements of Arfa Karim would always be remembered in the
country. He said that issuance of commemorative postal stamps was a
recognizance of Arfah’s skills.
