LAHORE/PESHAWAR: At the crack of dawn the thunder of Pakistan Army’s 21-cannon salute heralded Eid Milad-un-Nabi (Peace Be Upon Him) celebrations for the fervent faithfuls here on Tuesday, AbbTakk News reported. Pakistan Army’s artillery men fired the 21 cannons at Fortress Stadium in Lahore. Cannons also roared in Peshawar’s Jinnah Park after Fajar prayer for the same. Eid Milad-un-Nabi is the observance of the birthday of Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) which occurs in Rabi-ul-Awwal, the 3rd month in the Islamic calendar.It is cerebrated with religious reverence and fervour, renewing the pledge to follow His (PBUH) true teachings. The day, which is a public holiday, has already begun with special prayers for development, safety, peace, unity and brotherhood among-st the followers of Holy Prophet (PBUH). Extraordinary security arrangements have been made to maintain law and order across the country. Along with deployment of thousands of extra security men the mobile phone services will remain suspended in parts of Pakistan. A myriad of special programs, congregations, processions, and other events have been organized for this special day. All major government and private buildings, residential plazas, markets, mosques, roundabouts have been illuminated with colorful decorative lighting.
