Foreign Citizens In Saudi Arabia Can Mary Orphan Saudi Girls
Members of the committee at the conference also stressed that it should be made certain before the marriage of these orphan girls that their husbands are not marrying them just to gain access to the money the government gives to these girls for their welfare.
Speaking at the conference, the committee chairman Samha Al-Ghamdi said that this decision was taken keeping the best interests of Saudi orphans in mind. He said that it was not easy for orphan girls to get married and often the only proposals they received were from aged, handicapped or people suffering from psychological disorders. He said that this move would create more options for orphan Saudi girls and give them a chance to lead happier lives.
This move has also been greeted positively by foreign citizens in Saudi Arabia who come to wok here in large numbers. This has given them an opportunity to gain citizenship of Saudi Arabia which is very hard to get normally. However it remains to be seen whether this will not become abused by people for the wrong purposes.
